Can I have more than 12 months LAT recognised towards a future training programme?

Yes, in exceptional circumstances. To prospectively support a LAT of more than 12 months there must be evidence of a structured programme, showing progression through the SpR grade. This can be in the form of assessment forms, logbooks and training agreements. Therefore to seek prospective support of more than 12 months LAT you must submit:


To seek confirmation that the LAT time meets educational requirements, upon completion of the post you must submit:


  • Up to date CV;
  • Trainee / yellow assessment forms/RITA C
  • Training post / green assessment forms
  • Consolidation sheets
  • Letter of support from your current training programme director.
